Milestone Goals, Lasting Success with the Peak Performance Accelerator

When Khayaal moved to Toronto, Ontario from Dubai, he had been working at the same job, steadily progressing his career for over 10 years. He was looking for a fresh start in Toronto and to continue the professional upward trajectory that he had worked so hard for. Soon after his move Khayaal suffered culture shock. Life in Canada was different than he had expected, especially at the corporate level. “I was struggling in areas I had found a lot of success in, in other parts of the world,” he explains. “My professional life up until that point had taken place in two countries with similar cultures and I learned quickly that Canada, and the North American market takes a significantly different approach when it comes to the hierarchy within a workplace. I felt as though I had been demoted. I changed jobs three times looking for somewhere I felt my skills added value and my potential could grow.”
Khayaal was working with Flight Centre when he connected with Chris and learned about his Leadership Coaching Program. With a strong desire to progress his career and find success in Canada, Khayaal made time for a free one hour coaching session that changed his path. During the call Chris asked questions to understand not only Khayaal’s challenges but his mindset and approach to improvement. Chris was empathetic, optimistic and open minded as the two got to know each other. Khayaal felt inspired and enthusiastic as he signed up to work with Chris on a three month program.
The Peak Performance Accelerator three-month coaching program involves regular weekly or bi-weekly one-hour coaching sessions focusing on goal setting, habit development, addressing challenges, and exploring leadership opportunities. Chris works with each client on their approach to conflict resolution, impactful communication, strategic direction and time management. Together they set short and long term and tailor a plan to suit the individual and achieve their targets while instilling lasting mindset shifts.
“I was trying to understand the skills needed to climb up the corporate ladder as quickly as possible, emphasizing the qualities I already had. I saw the value in leadership skills over practical skills because I knew I already had those; I just wasn’t using them the best way. Leadership skills are universal, not industry specific and I wanted to work on areas I could continue to build on wherever my career takes me,” shares Khayaal. Khayaal is ambitious and committed to his success. In addition to his career goals, Khayaal is a published author. With two books complete and a third in progress, a personal goal was to get his third book into publication and continue to pursue that dream. Chris and Khayaal worked together on both long and short term goals ensuring there were progress checkpoints and wins along the way.
To increase his career opportunities and continue his upward trajectory, Khayaal planned to pursue his PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification. “Typically to achieve this certification it takes between 16 to 30 weeks. When I told Chris I wanted to complete the program in eight weeks he prompted me to define how I planned to approach that goal. I laughed and said ‘Chris, this is why I’m working with you!’ He didn’t scoff at me as others had. He asked me a number of questions about my approach to study and the requirements of the course. That conversation was on a Tuesday and by Friday, Chris had created a plan to achieve the PMP Certification in seven weeks with a buffer week to allow for challenges.”Eight weeks after this conversation Khayaal wrote his exam and passed. His first call after receiving the news was to his Dad, his second call was to Chris.
While he worked his corporate job, pursued his PMP Certification and continued working on his third novel, inevitably life happened. When a personal relationship began absorbing his emotional energy and challenging him in ways he hadn’t dealt with before, Khayaal turned to Chris for support and learned leadership wasn’t strictly professional. “What sets Chris’ approach apart is his empathy,” explains Khayaal. “Chris takes his time with his clients to get to know them as a person. He is genuinely invested in your success. That breakup affected a lot of aspects of my life and Chris guided me through it. He was a consistent support but one that allowed me to pivot and adapt as my headspace needed while keeping on track and focused on my goals. I really needed that support, reminding me of the direction I was going and why.”
Throughout this challenging period, one strategy the pair worked on was achieving smaller successes and focusing less on the big picture. Chris was able to break the larger goals down into achievable milestones while giving his client the permission to adapt his timeline and remove deadlines on less pressing milestones like writing his book. Chris also encouraged an emphasis on physical health, mental health and sleep as he knows sacrificing wellness won’t achieve your goals. Taking breaks, getting adequate sleep and eating healthy, nutritious foods were important aspects of Khayaal’s progress and elements of his plan Chris emphasized.
Chris’s coaching centers around a psychological approach that explores the relationships between language, behavior, and the mind called Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP.) By understanding and reframing a client’s patterns of thought and behavior, Chris supports individuals like Khayaal to achieve personal growth and enhanced communication skills with the goal of meaningful and lasting results.

“You can lose your way if there’s nobody holding you accountable,” Khayaal continues. “It’s easy to feel lost and lonely when you’re trying to fight these battles on your own. Having Chris in my corner was the motivation and the reassurance I needed.”

Chris’ coaching takes a holistic approach. No matter what level of leadership clients achieve, life is going to continue to throw unexpected curveballs. Understanding how to navigate challenges and stay focused while also giving yourself grace are the skills that will serve clients in executive roles but also, more holistically throughout all of life’s events, both personal and professional.

After completing his three-month Peak Performance Accelerator coaching program, Khayaal is still putting into action the skills he learned from Chris. “I think people are capable of great things if you just believe in them and that’s what leaders do, they believe in people,” explains Khayaal. “That belief is not limited to the corporate space. Our individual characteristics and our individual goals allow us to define success. My coaching experience enhanced not only my belief in myself but my belief in those around me.”
As he remains focused on his next book and pursues the next level of his career, Khayaal continues to take value from his coaching with Chris. He encourages others to invest in themselves and do the same. “I 100% recommend leadership coaching with Chris to anyone looking to advance their career or gain confidence in their life,” he says. “His approach wasn’t one size fits all. He took the time to understand and work with my strengths and my weaknesses. I achieved some milestone achievements in our time together and I’m continuing to accomplish my goals using the strategies and mindset he taught me.”
